Our Aims

We consider everybody who is part of Great Witley Pre School part of our Pre School 'family'.  Our aim is to put our children and families at the heart of everything we do.  We do this by:

F - Working within a framework which ensures equality of opportunity for all children and families so that every child is included and supported.  We ensure that everyone involved with Pre School feels safe and secure and an integral part of our organisation, where all opinions matter and are listened to. We work in partnership with parents and other external organisations so that high quality care and learning can be achieved

Achieve - Identify, meet and encourage the development of each child holistically by providing a varied and interesting curriculum, gauged around individual needs so that each child is challenged and assisted in achieving their full potential so that every child makes good progress and no child gets left behind.  We do this by working with parents to support what the family is teaching the child at home.  We use a mixture of half termly planning topics, key person plans for each child’s individual next steps and also in the moment planning where experienced staff tune into what is motivating each child at a given moment.

Memories - To provide a welcoming, happy, caring and stimulating environment so that the children enjoy their time with us.  Learning Journeys allow families to share the learning and memories of each child’s time at our setting.

Intent - We believe that young children learn best through play and we offer a mixture of adult led and child initiated experiences which allow children to acquire and develop new skills.

Life long learners – We hope that by making learning fun and tuning into each child’s interests and needs children become motivated to learn and become independent learners

Interaction – We ensure that adults act as positive role models and through our key person relationship provide children with secure attachments with staff who provide support and guidance to not only the children but parents as well.

Environment  - we use various resources including open ended which allow children to explore, learn and develop a sense of awe and wonder.  We use both indoor and outdoor environments to offer different experiences to children.  We access the outdoors in all weathers

Self-confidence – by working closely with our children through various activities we help to raise their self esteem and ensure that children grow in self confidence and form friendships
